On International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Holocaust survivors stood in front of state lawmakers Monday to champion a bill requiring Holocaust education in Arizona schools.

Oskar Knoblauch tugged a white armband onto his sleeve. A blue Star of David had been sewn onto the armband, not unlike the one he had been forced to wear when he was 15, the one that identified him as a Jew in Nazi-occupied Poland.
